
Alec Silvera, B.Sc.
Alec Silvera, holding a B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of the West Indies, brings extensive experience in the field of zoology, with a background spanning both laboratory and field settings, totaling 6 years.
Before joining CLE, he engaged in multiple internships at Jamaica Broilers Testing Lab, the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), Discovery Bay Marine Lab, and The White River Fish Sanctuary.
At CLE, Alec plays a crucial role in overseeing and conducting environmental monitoring across various facets of the company, in particular he focuses on terrestrial and marine environments. His main responsibilities include surveying environments and monitoring water quality in marine, freshwater, potable, groundwater, and wastewater systems to ensure clients are operating within established environmental regulations. He also has experience in air quality monitoring, covering PM2.5 and PM10 particulate sampling, noise and acoustic monitoring and coral reef and seagrass monitoring, among other construction-related activities.
Alec has gained expertise in setting up and calibrating the TISCH Environmental Ambient Air Quality sampler. He has also received extensive on-the-job training in assembling and calibrating AirMetrics Ambient Air Quality Tactical Air Samplers and Quest Technologies SoundPro SE/DL noise meters.
