Karen McIntyre M.Sc., GISP

Karen is a certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Professional (GISCI) holding both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications, specifically a BSc. in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia and a MSc. in GIS from Lund University. With almost 20 years of experience in the fields of GIS and Environmental Science, she has assumed multiple positions, including Environmental Scientist, Projects Manager, and GIS Analyst, contributing her expertise to the successful completion of as many as 50 projects spanning various scopes and disciplines.

Presently, Karen serves as the Geospatial Analyst at CLE. Her professional responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of tasks, including field data collection (with a focus on water quality, benthic surveys, noise, and dust monitoring), spatial data assembly, review, manipulation, and modelling (encompassing remote sensing, spatial impact analysis, multicriteria evaluation, network analysis, and viewshed analysis), cartography, project coordination, preparation of technical documentation, and workshop facilitation.

Karen’s professional career has been enriched by her involvement in research, particularly in benthic mapping methods, which has culminated in the publication of her research findings. Her combined educational and professional journey has exposed her to a diverse range of data types, including ecological, socioeconomic, hazards and land use, as well as the software tools employed in their analysis. Her well-demonstrated ability in multi-information synthesis is underpinned by her innate organizational skills and unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout all project phases.
